Catalonia Wants Referendum, Barcelona out of the La Liga

Sports - Chairman of the Spanish football league club Barcelona, Javier Tebas says will be out the La Liga if Catalonia's independence from Spain. Catalonia plans to hold a referendum on November 9th 2014.

"If Catalonia held referendum and want to freedom from Spain, according to the rules of sports throughout Spain, the Barcelona can not come into play," said Javier in a press conference in Barcelona.

Barcelona's players Xavi Hernandez and Gerard Pique support the implementation of the referendum. If Catalonia's independence, it is not only Barcelona who will be out of the La Liga and playing in division Catalan, but also club Espanyol, as reported by Daily Mail newspaper last week.

During this fierce competition in the Spanish league has always been monopolized two giants club Real Madrid and Barcelona, however Atletico Madrid last season despite winning the league. If Barcelona leave La Liga then this is a big low to the Spanish League.

"I can't imagine the Spanish leagues without Barcelona. Likewise I can't imagine Barcelona without Spain," added Javier.

A massive rally attended by 1.8 million people last September in the city of Barcelona to support a referendum for the independence of Catalonia. Including, two players Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez and Gerard Pique have been participated in the rally.

"We have the right to participate in the referendum. We want people to voice their choice and I want to join the referendum," said them to a news conference.
