Technology - The car is equipped with a remote locking system (remote locking) can be hacked with custom applications 'off-the-shelf' for 600 pounds, or about USD 11.8 million. According to a computer expert, the software is very effective to penetrate the security of keyless entry. Silvio Cesare, who works at security company Qualys, plans to give evidnce at the Black Hat Security conference in Las Vegas this week about how he managed to unlock the car yourself using these techniques.

By using a software-defined radio, allowing the computer to send receive various frequencies that are used all the devices from Wi-Fi wireless remote key and a Bluetooth device. In fact, it could happen in a car that uses a rolling code system, which is commonly used to improve security by changing the required message when opening the car door every time it is used.

"If someone is parked in the garage in the long term, something like this could happen," said Cesare told Wired.

This sure provide the opportunity  for hackers to perform an action when the owner of the car using the key wireless remote, at least in the one-time use code to extract a unique description which transmits commands to lock or unlock the car door.

However, Cesare was only tested the technique on his car (have not tried it on a car owned by someone else). Moreover, this technique hasn't been tested for the engine powering the car so that if this incident really happened, the car owner will only lose items in the car.

In a way, this technique is a bit easier than stealing the data on the laptop or other gadget. In fact, the information obtained can be used widely by hackers, so Cesare pledged to secrecy. "Criminals can hire researchers to replicate this attack. But they won't get it from me," he said.
