Violates Patents, Microsoft Demands Samsung

Technology -  Microsoft is demanding Samsung has violated a patent agreement that they agree upon. This feud to the technology incorporated into the Samsung Android. Launched by the Wall Street Journal, Saturday, August 2, 2014, Microsoft has held several patents on the technology used in smartphones and Android tablets. One is the technology that is capable of displaying multiple windows within the browser.

Microsoft actually has had a lot of agreements related to these patents. Not only with the Samsung but also HTC. Microsoft claimed to have sent to multiple vendors lawsuits devices that allegedly violate its patent use.

The deal has happened since 2011 and it says if Samsung is willing to pay money to Microsoft. The amount is calculated based on the units that rains Samsung Android devices to market. But lately, Samsung doesn't pay on time.

Unfortunately, Microsoft is reluctant to give details of  the amount of the cost of the patent in question. However, Nomura Securities analyst, Rick Sherlund predicts Microsoft have earned about US$2 billion annually of the cost of the use of these patents in Android devices.

In a lawsuit that is attached to the Manhattan District Court, Microsoft said that if Samsung are late paying patent royalties are used. Even the Korean Company refused pay interest on delay. "Having been a leader in the global smartphone market, Samsung decided to stop adhere agreements was created by Microsoft," said Microsoft Deputy General, David Howard in his personal blog.

Howard also revealed that Samsung considers Microsoft's move to buy Nokia's mobile business as a violation of the agreement the two companies. The Samsung claimed not commenting and will perform detailed studies first before responding to media inquiries.

Row over patents in not new in the realm of technology. Previously, Samsung has also been involved in a patent dispute with Apple. This demand is not directly prove if the intellectual property is an important point that triggered the war a large technology company.
